"TGBM" by ghxstgirl

Hailing from Lansing, MI, ghxstgirl is the solo project of Chloe Lynn. She showcases her signature blend of blackgaze ran through a DIY and cybergrind filter on the crushing debut album "TGBM" aka "Tumblr Girl Black Metal".

Chloe states the following about her experiences and influences regarding the project:

"'TGBM' or 'Tumblr Girl Black Metal' is my first true album and my project that really helped define my sound as ghxstgirl.

I wanted to take inspirations from blackgaze and DSBM (Deafheaven, Sadness, Have a Nice Life), but also infuse more modern DIY artist elements, with a lot of programmed synths/samplers to create a more personal sound.

I love the DIY 'computer music' sound that comes from genres like cybergrind, so I wanted to kinda blend that philosophy and spirit with emotional and darker elements from the other genres. Blind Equation is definitely one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to energy and philosophy.

TGBM also came out of an era of personal growth and finding my queer identity, so there's elements of romance and queerness brewed into it as well.

Ultimately, TGBM is about my passion. Emotional ups and downs and struggling to figure out who I wanna be. It's inspired by love, and inspired by loss."

Originally released digitally in August 2024, "TGBM" officially makes its debut to physical media via CDr.
