"McMixtape" by McMansion

Blown out synth lines, explosive off kilter drum patterns, vocals that go from shrieks to monsterous gutterals, shrilly guitars, rumbling bass and audio samples from films / video games and internet memes make up the soundscape of McMixtape, the debut mixtape by Baltimore / Frederick cybergrind band McMansion.

Originally started in 2019, McMansion began as a creative outlet to experiment making heavy music using only a DAW by founding member Etzee.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, McMansion would spark back to life after the initial project file laid dorment for a few months.

From 2020-2022, the band had a few short stints with online labels and getting featured on a couple of compilation albums while collabing with other online musicians.

In 2023, drummer and digital producer Georgia joined the band to play live drums for the first McMansion show ever in June of that year. The band would go on to play many shows in the DMV area throughout the year and into 2024-2025.

Eventually, the line-up would add Marya on guitar and Rob on bass - both also digital producers - in late 2025.

The tape features a collection of select songs from splits, collab tracks, and demos released through 2022-2025, as well as a brand new song currently only available on this release.

McMixtape shows a new path of cybergrind being forged.
